Kids at Mass, Martyrs & Satanists w/Fr. Anthony Sciarappa | Forte Catholic Podcast Ep 250
Taylor brings the heat this week with some hot takes on kids in Mass, Martyrs and Satanists. Fr. Anthony isn't just along for the ride but tries to guide him back to sanity.
Taylor brings the heat this week with some hot takes on kids in Mass, Martyrs and Satanists. Fr. Anthony isn't just along for the ride but tries to guide him back to sanity.
Parents often feel unwelcome in Mass with their little kids. There are often glares and "shushes" from other parishioners. Because of this, there has been a public outcry for allowing and welcoming kids in Mass. BUT Taylor thinks the pendulum has squng too far! With such a focus on welcoming kids in Mass, there has been less of a push on parents parenting their kids during the Mass. He shares a horrendous story of this happening at a recent Mass and tries to bring the conversation back to the middle and some sanity.
Taylor's next take on martyrdom has Fr. Anthony very worried about him. Taylor wonders why Christians have to accept martydom in the case of someone making you deny your faith. Why not let them hear what they want to hear knowing you don't mean it? Why not just plan on going to Confession? How does culpability come in to play if you're forced to do something at gun point. He asks the questions and Fr. Anthony tries his best to answer.
Finally, after the two hot takes, Taylor plays it safe but saying how dumb he thinks satanism is. It is the belief system that makes the least amount of sense. Like seeing the losing side and picking them. Very odd.
We hope you enjoy this absolutely wild episode to celebrate 250 episodes and 150k downloads! Thanks y'all!

Forte Catholic Podcast Episode 245
Taylor & Liv share stories of the good & bad of summer, how Arby's and the Church are very similar & Taylor reveals one of his biggest pet peeves.
Liv Harrison is in studio for the first time in 16 months! Taylor & her in the same room always brings some comedy and drama lol. They kick off the show by talking about summer: Taylor's recent tubing trip, a Summer activity Liv has never done & the return of summer blockbusters.
Next, Taylor saw a Beyond Meat commercial and Arby's commercial back to back and it made him think about the Church (huh?). In a quickly changing world, the Catholic Church (and Arby's) remain steadfast.
Finally, Taylor reveals one of his biggest pet peeves: people not wanting to improve. He shares stories of how he's seen this play out professionally, spiritually and in coaching. He compliments Liv deeply in the segment and also lashes out at her. Perfect way to end the show. Enjoy!

Fr. Anthony & Taylor discuss the premise "real men only compliment each other behind their backs." They play an absolutely wild game of Forte/Mezzo/Piano with flaming hot takes from a rocket scientist. Finally, you've heard the Pange Lingua but have no idea what it means. We're gonna change that.
Taylor kicks off the show with an announcement of a fun update to the show. He & Fr. Anthony also discuss the premise from a recent Marvel post that "real men only compliment each other behind their backs" which leads to a fun conversation about friendship.
Next, JP Quinn rejoins the show to play the game he invented: Forte, Mezzo, Piano. He shares hot takes that Father Anthony and Taylor have to grade and share their views on. Man, let me tell you, JP wanted absolute chaos this week and he got it. Fr. Anthony and Taylor haven't been this united in months as they take aim at JP's ridiculous takes. Absolute blood bath lol
Finally, you've heard the Pange Lingua, but have zero clue what it means in English. We're going to fix that. Enjoy!

Edmund Mitchell cohosts and tries to explain Taylor's strange dreams. They also play a Catholic version of mad libs and everyone's favorite "Freestyle Preaching."
Edmund Mitchell cohosts and tries to be Taylor's "Joseph" by interpreting his strange dreams. What is dreaming? Do they tell us something real? Can you sin in dreams? Almost none of these questions are answered, but they're attempts are entertaining.
The second segment, we used Taylor's 2nd grader's new Catholic MadLibs book to try to create comedy. It bombed, which some of you think is the best comedy. If not, we apologize for one of our strangest segments ever.
Finally, Edmund gets to try "Freestyle Preaching" for the first time. Each host gives the other 3 words they have to include in a 60 second sermon. Some of them turn out great and some of them are Edmund's attempts. Enjoy!

Taylor shares a terrible review of him and the show and says the person was actually right lol. He and Jon play Imitate, Intercess or Ignore and then talk about some Scriptures Taylor found in the bathroom lol.
The show kicks off with a hilarious terrible review of Taylor and the show. He tells John what was said about him, who came to his rescue and...how the mean reviewer was...right??? This leads to a discussion on reviewing things in general and how we can use it as a way to shed light into dark places.
Next, they play the new Imitate, Intercess or Ignore game where they each give each other three saints and have to choose what they will do with each. Hilarity and learning a bit about the saints at the same time...and maybe some who didn't actually exist...
Finally, Taylor shares an odd story about some Scripture verses he found in a restroom. It was...strange...to say the least. Enjoy!!!

Fr. Anthony quizzes Taylor on fancy Catholic words and it...was something. lol. One of the more fun games we've come up with in a while. Do you know the meaning of more of these words than a guy with a Theology degree? The answer is...probably...

This is a great conversation for us to continue to grow in our current situation.
